Golden Bough

Another in our spotlight of fine performers at the Portland Scottish Highland Games is Golden Bough. Golden Bough are based in Modesto, California, but have delighted and entertained audiences for years all over the world. They are: Margie Butler on harp, vocals, whistle and bodhran, Kathy Sierra on fiddle, viola, vocal and bodhran, and Paul Espinoza on guitar, cittern, accordion and vocals. The group formed in 1980 and have since recorded over 30 albums. We caught up with the group in Lake Oswego, Oregon last summer and had a chat with them, take a look:

Golden Bough will be performing at the Games several times throughout the day, including hosting some workshops and concluding in the ceilidh at the end of the day! Be sure to come over to the entertainment stage and catch them, their songs, music and vocal harmonies are really wonderful!
