2012 Portland Highland Games Artist Spotlight: Men of Worth

Men of Worth: from left: Donnie Macdonald and James Keigher

Men of Worth are Donnie Macdonald and James Keigher. These Lads have been collaborating and performing together since 1986. Donnie and James bring their Scottish and Irish roots together in an incredibly entertaining performance and display of wonderful music combined with grand stories. Watching and listening to their performances it can be difficult to imagine how just two men can deliver such volume, musicality, humor and sheer joy in their songs. If you’ve seen them you know what we speak of; if you have not, then you’re in for a treat when you come to the Portland Scottish Highland Games this coming Saturday. They will be performing several times throughout the day.

Here’s a wee exclusive 67 Music video sample of Men of Worth from a performance at a house concert in Portland, Oregon from December 2011: (Special thanks to Abbie Weisenbloom for hosting the concert).

Donnie and James are masters of storytelling, both in the introductions and interpretations of their songs and with their tales of their experiences and life on the road as traveling troubadours. On that topic, they also are involved in offering package tours of their native lands of Scotland and Ireland. Learn more about that and their music at their website, www.menofworth.com.
